Michael Mayrsohn DPT OCS, graduated from Syracuse Business School in 2008, before earning his doctorate in physical therapy from Stony Brook University in 2012. Michael joined Metro Physical and Aquatic Therapy fulltime in 2014. He became CEO in 2016, where he grew the company from a staff of 50 seeing 75,000 encounters a year, to a staff of over 400, seeing just under 250,000 encounters in 2021. Michael has a strong background in leadership, which allowed Metro to attract some of the top innovators in the field. Michael has successfully been able to add multiple outpatient services to their practice such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Acupuncture. Metro is proud to have its headquarters still on Long Island, and employs over 500 people, with 250 providers.

As a clincican Dr. Mayrsohn is an Orthopedic and A.R.T Specialist. He has extensive manual therapy experience, with advance certifications in spine mobilizations, SIJ dysfunction and TMJ. Dr. Mayrsohn is actively involved in the Hospital for Special Surgery research and development of therapeutic products and treatment methods.

Dr. Mayrsohn mentors every associate and physical therapist on his patient-centered model. Many of the exceptional success stories found at Metro Physical Therapy are in large part due to the coordination of care provided by his therapy team and the management staff.
