Injuries to the bones, muscles, and joints are common, whether from sports or everyday activities. Accidents, muscle overuse, repetitive motion, inadequate stretching, and poor training practices can all lead to damage to the muscles, joints, and ligaments. At Metro Physical Therapy, we help treat these and many other injuries and conditions:

Our goal is always to work with you to assess your needs and help you return to the activities you love.

Aquatic Therapy ⌄
Low-impact, water-based therapy that reduces stress on joints while improving mobility.

Due to the buoyancy of water, therapy performed in an aquatic setting allows for movement with minimal weight bearing. This makes it especially beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Sports/orthopedic injuries
  • Arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Neurologic disorders
  • Postsurgical pain and dysfunction
  • Low-back pain and knee pain
  • Balance

By making it easier to address such issues through exercise, aquatic therapy has helped many return to their daily activities more easily.

Pilates Rehabilitation ⌄
Improving flexibility, strength, and posture through controlled movement techniques.

Pilates rehabilitation is designed for individuals recovering from injury as well as those looking to prevent future issues. By emphasizing breathing, alignment, and spinal mobility, Pilates improves flexibility and strengthens the small stabilizing muscles that support overall body function.

We integrate physical therapy and Pilates into a customized treatment plan to help restore movement, improve strength, and support overall health.

Balance Problems ⌄
Treating dizziness, vertigo, and instability to reduce fall risk and improve safety.

Balance issues can lead to dizziness or vertigo, a sensation of falling, difficulty reading or seeing, and a range of other symptoms. Our therapists are skilled in identifying and treating these concerns, whether they stem from neurological or orthopedic conditions, or inner ear (vestibular) disorders.

Our goal is to help you return to full function safely and efficiently. We provide education on your condition, available treatment options, and strategies to help prevent falls and related issues.

Through targeted therapeutic exercise, we also work to improve your strength and overall conditioning, helping make everyday activities safer and more manageable.

Occupational Therapy ⌄
Helping you regain independence in everyday activities through improved mobility and function.

Neurological, musculoskeletal, and congenital disorders can make it more difficult to perform daily activities, such as buttoning a shirt or preparing meals.

Our therapists work closely with you to develop treatment plans tailored to your needs, with a focus on maximizing independence, mobility, and flexibility. By targeting fine motor skills, we help you regain the dexterity needed to manage day to day responsibilities.

Parkinson’s Therapy ⌄
Improving strength, balance, and coordination for individuals with movement disorders.

Parkinson’s disease typically develops after the age of 50. Our therapists work with patients to manage Parkinson’s and other movement disorders, helping to slow the progression of symptoms effectively.

Our skilled rehabilitation services support individuals in staying strong, active, and independent. By improving flexibility and strength, we help reduce fall risk while enhancing coordination, endurance, and overall function.

Pelvic Floor Therapy ⌄
Strengthening core muscles to address pain, incontinence, and stability issues.

Pelvic floor therapy works to strengthen the muscles that support the bladder and bowel. These muscles are essential for sexual health and core stability. When they become weak or overactive, they can lead to pain, pressure, incontinence, constipation, or nerve-related discomfort.

Using a personalized approach, our experienced therapists identify the root cause of your symptoms and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs. We also collaborate with referring physicians and other specialists to ensure coordinated, whole person care.

Pediatric Therapy ⌄
Helping children develop strength, coordination, and functional movement skills.

Our goal as physical therapists is to help your child achieve their highest level of physical ability for everyday activities.

We understand that children with disabilities or injury related conditions benefit most when they are engaged in their care, and that a positive environment is key to successful outcomes. We work closely with you and your child to develop a treatment plan that supports growth and development.

Below are some of the conditions we treat:

  • Torticollis
  • Autism spectrum disorders

Work Focused Rehabilitation and Workers Compensation Therapy

For work related injuries, we take a customized approach based on specific job demands. Our goal is to help patients steadily rebuild strength, endurance, and confidence so they can return to work safely and sustainably.

Acupuncture ⌄
A holistic approach to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and support overall wellness.

In acupuncture, therapists use extremely thin needles to stimulate nerves in specific areas of the body. This therapy can help treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Low-back and neck pain

Specialized scoliosis treatment focused on posture correction and spinal alignment.

Designed to strengthen the spine and promote a more neutral alignment, Schroth Method Therapy is beneficial for patients with scoliosis, including those undergoing rehabilitation, whether or not surgery is part of their treatment plan. Through corrective breathing techniques and targeted exercises, patients can improve spinal alignment and reduce associated pain.
