Neurological Therapy

Neurological rehabilitation involves injuries, disease, and problems related to the brain and central nervous system. In physical therapy the goal is to achieve maximal, independent level of function through strengthening, range of motion, coordination and balance training as well as functional activities.



A neurologically-trained physical therapist specializes in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with movement problems related to disease or injury of the nervous system. Therapists who specialize in neurology work with a wide range of patients who may have one of the following conditions:

  • Stroke

  • Spinal cord injury

  • Brain injury

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Multiple sclerosis


Parkinson's Therapy

At Metro Physical Therapy, we use principles from BIG exaggerated movements for strengthening and increasing balance. Our Physical Therapists have neurological expertise and with an evaluation, we can help with slowing down the progression of the disease.


Multiple Sclerosis

Metro Physical Therapy can be very helpful at lessening secondary symptoms of MS. Our physical therapists can teach you exercises to strengthen and loosen muscles. Many of these exercises can be performed at home. The Goal of Metro Physical Therapy is to improve your independence and quality of life by improving movement and function and relieving pain.
